March faves

two of my favourite things happen in March — later sunsets! And the start of spring! Let’s recap the month.

Shopping

March I wanted to have a low s1pend month (and I did a pretty good job if I do say so myself!) but I did get a few things as a treat

Metal claw clips — Winners

I bought a couple claw clips from Winners — a pickleball paddle and a gold metal one with a zigzag / wave design. Unfortunately because it is from Winners I can’t link it and I can’t find similar ones on amazon. But if you are from Toronto / Canada, you might be able to still find them at your local Winners!

Loops and Threads Acrylic Yarn — Michaels

I’ve been wanting to crochet headbands and finally decided to buy some yarn! Loops and Threads is my favourite yarn brand! I only crocheted on headband but I definitely want to make more!

Beauty

This month Caudalie kindly sent me some skincare products and I have absolutely been loving them! And so has my skin! They arrived at the perfect time — I was experiencing a really bad breakout and these products where specifically for acne!

I also got my spring hair cut! I usually cut my hair short in the spring (and trim it in the fall). I love my short hair but I’m a little disappointed with my haircut… it’s uneven — the left side is longer than the right side and it’s also a bit jagged. I know I should probably go back to the salon but I’m I also kind of feel bad??? My plan is to let it grow out a bit then get it fixed at a different salon.

Entertainment

I am still reading Happy Place by Emily Henry — for the third month in a row… I am only about 50% through the book. I am not the biggest reader but I am trying to make some time to read every day. As you can see, I am not doing the greatest job…

I am currently watching The Rookie, White Lotus and Abbott Elementary. And I am HOOKED on all of them! I was a bit behind on all three shows but I am now at the point where I need to wait for the next episode. I am also anxiously waiting for the White Lotus season finale this Sunday… but I am also going to miss watching the show. Luckily it did get renewed for another season.

My sister and I also watched Running Point. Another great show and I am happy that it was also renewed for another season! Except I hate that Netflix shows are only 10 episodes long and released all at once. Although waiting for another episode is annoying it does build hype and suspense. And I can’t binge it all at once.

Outfits

I’ve decided it’s time to start developing my personal style and put more effort into putting together an outfit rather than just putting on a knit sweater and pants. I’ve been scrolling through Pinterest for outfit ideas but I think what I need to start off by buying some basic pieces that can be dressed up or down as needed.

Life Lately

March wasn’t the most exciting month — but it was boring in a good way!

I started and ended the month at the cottage again (and I realized that I will do the same in April and May). I got back into YouTube and uploaded 5 videos — one per week PLUS a bonus video!

I tried a few new coffee shops — Dineen, Bready, De Mello Kitchen and Pilot Coffee Roasters. I think I need to build a Toronto coffee shop data base and develop my own rating system.

On the 15th I took a day trip to Ottawa. I took the train to Ottawa and back in the same day… it was a long but fun day! I went for a reunion with the Camp that I work at in the summer. I left the condo at 5:45am and didn’t get back until 12:30am the next day.
