May Faves

May has come and gone! Time to recap the month!

Shopping

Okay, This month I did a lot of shopping!

One of my big projects this month was to clean out my closet (I filmed a video for YouTube, you can check that out here). And after that I went out and bought some new clothes for the summer. It’s been a while since I’ve refreshed my wardrobe and I wanted to get some new clothes that I felt good in.

Beauty

I restocked a lot of my usual skincare products and I am trying some new ones!

Restocks:

  • La Roche Posay Effaclar Cleanser

  • Neutrogena 50spf hydro boost sunscreen

  • Avène anti-blemish concentrate (my favourite acne treatment!)

New Things:

  • Cetaphil 50spf daily moisturizer

  • La Roche Posay face and body after sun

  • Attitude Super Leaves shampoo and conditioner

Entertainment

This month I started two books and did not finish them… I started High Tide Club by Mary Kay Andrews at the end of April and only made it three chapters before moving on to something else. I also started Unlikely Story by Ali Rosen and also only made it a few chapters into the book before moving on. On a more positive note, I read Abby Jimenez’s short novel; the Fall Risk. I read the whole thing in one sitting! I think my problem is that there are other books that I actually want to read but I felt like I needed to read High Tide Club and Unlikely Story first because I bought them when they where discounted (I mean like a dollar or two). Anyway, I started Every Summer After by Carley Fortune which has actually been on my reading list for a while (as well as other books!).

I also went to see the live action Lilo and Stitch. I LOVED it! Lilo and Stitch is my favourite Disney movie for many reasons — ranging from the art to the story line. I know a lot of people weren’t happy with the ending BUT I have a feeling they didn’t really understand the point of it. I also think they didn’t a good job of staying true to the original movie while also making it more realistic. But that’s all I’m going to say so I don’t spoil it!

As for TV shows, I haven’t watched much tv (shocking, I know!) but I did start watching Ghosts (the sitcom). I’ve already seen some of the show but not all of it so I decided to watch the whole thing right from the start.

Life Lately

I considered this month to be my “summer holiday”. I say that in quotes because a) its spring. And b) now that I am done school, do technically still get a summer holiday? Well, I’m still calling it my summer holiday because its my break between finishing school (for good!) and before I start my summer job in June.

May has been a jam-packed month. It also didn’t feel like it flew by, and I mean that in a good way! At the beginning of the month I took a day trip to Ottawa to take both sets of grad photos. I also spent the month working on my garden, I planted the seed at the beginning of the month and put them in the ground at the end of the month. In between that, I went to Toronto for a few days, I went to Peterborough for an overnight, I spent the day at the hospital and I went to Peterborough again for an ultrasound — I spring my ankle two years ago and I am still having issues with it. They think I might have torn a ligament.

In case you missed it…
