April Faves

Shopping

April was another low shopping month. To be honest, there are not too many things that I want to buy right now but I am more than happy to save my money. But here a few new things that I treated myself to this month:

  • Daisy embroidered jeans from Old Navy — I wanted a cute pair of jeans for the spring and I thought these are perfect!

  • Saucony running shoes — I wear my running shoes to the ground and it was time for a new pair.

  • 6 pack of jumbo scrunchies from Amazon

  • Loops and Threads yarn — yes, more yarn!

Beauty

Probably my biggest highlight of the month was being told that I have really good skin with very minimal sunscreen! I went to a L’Oréal pop up event and had my skin assed by a dermatologist and she was surprised at how little sun damage my skin has. for context; I am very pale, I have blue eyes, freckles and reddish hair.

A few items that I restocked:

  • Nivea crème — I love LOVE a thick moisturizer!

  • Byoma gel cream moisturizer — my favourite face moisturizer

Entertainment

I am very happy to announce that I finished my book! I finally finished Happy Place by Emily Henry and I’ve rated it four out of five stars! It took me about 4 months to read the first 50% of the book then three days to read the rest of it haha. I am now moving on to High Tide Club by Mary Kay Andrews with the goal of reading two books in May.

Life Lately

April was a month filled with highs!

Starting off with some good news and a back story…

back in February I went to the doctor for my annual physical and did some regular tests that I have to do because of my chronic illness. Anyway, the tests that I did in february didn’t come back normal and I was told to wait eight weeks then redo them. That brings us to the beginning of April. As I’m sure by the intro, everything came back clean all is well! other than my chronic illness of course.

another high of the month, my family and I spent a week in Quebec City to celebrate my sister and I finishing school. It was a great week and I have another blog post and vlog on youtube if you want to know more about the trip.

And the highest high of April — I finished school! not just for the year, but for good (not really because I am planning on doing a Masters but as of right now I have no firm plans to go back to school). The past four years were a roller coaster. I almost dropped out or transferred schools a few times but I am really glad that I stuck it through! I made some really great friends along the way and I miss them so much but I really wouldn’t have made it without them.

I ended off my January recap post by saying “It might not of been the best start to the year, but I am excited to see where 2025 goes!” i remember thinking to myself “it’s only up from here” and I was right! each month has been better than the last and so many great things are still to come!
