January 2025 Recap!

What a crazy month!

January was filled with many highs and lows — but i’ll remain (mostly) positive!

I started off the month by moving back to Toronto, starting an internship and leaving said internship. It was a month of learning, growth and the start of a new chapter in my life.

Shopping

My favourite purchase of the month!

Nespresso Vertuo Pop+

After moving back to Toronto I decided to upgrade my Nespresso machine and bought a Vertuo Pop + in pink! plus some of my favourite Nespresso pods; Double Espresso Sucro, Mexico pod and Inizio gran lungo.

New Bedroom Essentials

One of my projects in January was to decorate my (new) bedroom. I moved into my parents condo in Toronto (after they moved to the cottage) and was determined to make the space feel more like my own! I bought everything for this bedroom makeover at Ikea!

Jelly Cats

I also added two new Jelly Cats to my collection — the Cherry Cake amusable and the To Go Coffee cup amusable.

Entertainment

shows and movies that I watched this month!

  • Abbott Elementary

Reading

one of the goals I set for 2025 was to read 15 books — a little more than 1 book a month. I am not a big reader but I did get a kindle and I am committed to read on a regular basis.

In January I started reading Happy Place by Emily Henry and I made it about 40% through the book. That does mean that I am behind on the goal BUT I still have tonnes of time this year to catch up!

Life Lately

January was filled with highs and lows. After moving out of my Ottawa apartment in December, I was originally going to live at the cottage with my parents but I decided to move into the Condo in Toronto. I started my remote internship on January 6 and ended up leaving it on the 15 of January. I was a tough decision to make but one that felt right. There was a lot of red flags about the company that I ignored, telling myself it was just anxiety but my first day was not reassuring. After meeting with my co-op officer I decided to leave and do a personal project instead. Why did I leave? because an internship is supposed to be a learning opportunity and this was an opportunity for someone to get free labour for their business — there is a lot more that I could say but I think this is the most professional way I could put it.

On a more positive note, I did a small transformation for my new bedroom and I love how it turned out! And I filmed the process for YouTube!

Coffee Shops I visited!

  • Black Canary Espresso Bar — 10/10 my favourite coffee shop!!!

  • % Arabica (Union Station) — 7/10 Would try again but it wasn’t my favourite

It might not of been the best start to the year, but I am excited to see where 2025 goes! I have a lot of exciting things ahead and cannot wait to share them with you! Make sure to follow me on Instagram and TikTok for more real-time updates or watch my weekly vlogs on YouTube!
